About This Position

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a Quality/Calibration Technician to join our team. In this role, you will ensure the quality of specific parts in accordance with established company and customer standards, providing clear verbal and written test results to management and production staff. This role includes a calibration focus, ensuring that inspection instruments are properly calibrated, maintained, and functioning within required tolerances, along with training workforce on how to use gauges properly. You will help maintain equipment accuracy and support the overall quality system, contributing directly to the precision and reliability of our products. At Domaille Engineering, you’ll join a skilled, precision-focused team delivering high-quality solutions in aerospace, defense, and fiber optics industries.

ITAR REQUIREMENTS

This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which restricts access to export-controlled information to U.S. persons. A U.S. person is generally defined as a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, or others specifically authorized under U.S. export regulations. General work authorization (e.g., work permit or EAD) or visa sponsorship does not meet ITAR requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Read and interpret drawings and specifications, then select and apply appropriate inspection equipment and techniques.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and verify the accuracy of inspection instruments according to company and industry standards.
  • Assist troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues to ensure reliable measurement results.
  • Maintain and monitor calibration schedules to ensure all inspection equipment remains accurate and compliant.
  • Training employees on correct operation, reading, and handling of gauges.
  • Use a variety of inspection instruments (calipers, micrometers, CMMs, etc.) and calculations to verify conformity to blueprints.
  • Perform visual inspections under magnification.
  • Review certifications from suppliers and vendors for compliance with specifications.
  • Evaluate quality of work and ensure acceptability, consistently meeting time and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection results using company databases.
  • Coordinate work to ensure tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and in order of priority.
  • Proactively seek additional duties and suggest solutions to potential issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Equivalent work experience considered; completion of a related two-year vocational program with two years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience with calibration, including disassembling equipment and/or conducting tests to determine performance, reliability, and compliance
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient with manual inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc).
  • Experience operating and/or programming CMMs using PC-DMIS is a plus.
  • Familiarity with GD&T concepts; aerospace or defense industry experience is preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position is on the production floor and involves regular exposure to active manufacturing areas.
  • Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and composite or steel-toe shoes, must be worn as required.
  • The work environment features standard plant lighting, operating machinery, and typical ambient conditions associated with a manufacturing facility.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Sit or stand as needed.
  • Walking primarily on a level surface for periods throughout the day.
  • Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, or lifting as required to reach documents or store materials throughout the workday.
  • Proper lifting techniques required.
