About This Position
Role Summary:
As a Senior Apparel Designer, you will play a pivotal role in crafting compelling design concepts tailored to our target demographic and line plan. Your responsibilities will span from ideation to execution, ensuring that our collections resonate with current market trends while staying true to the essence of the LSPACE brand.
Responsibilities:
Design Leadership:
- Develop a predetermined number of products per season while effectively managing carry-overs for assigned collections.
- Lead the design process from conception to production, maintaining a proactive approach at every stage.
- Translate product briefs into tangible designs within specified timelines, demonstrating a keen eye for detail and adherence to brand guidelines.
Market Research and Trend Analysis:
- Conduct thorough research of global markets and industry publications to remain abreast of emerging trends and innovative fabrics and techniques.
- Collaborate with design management to curate seasonal color palettes and craft compelling color stories that resonate with our target audience.
Brand Representation:
- Infuse the essence of the LSpace brand into all product concepts, designs, and styling, ensuring alignment with both market trends and business objectives.
- Work closely with the Design Director and VP of Creative and Design to select fabrications that are both innovative and commercially viable.
Technical Expertise:
- Collaborate with the Technical Design team to create accurate CADs, technical sketches, and design packs for seamless execution.
- Partner with Product Development to review samples and strike-offs, providing insightful recommendations for enhancements.
Supplier Management and Material Sourcing:
- Globally and domestically source raw materials and trims, fostering strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery.
- Present materials to the Creative Director and actively participate in design meetings, vocalizing opinions, and insights.
Continuous Learning and Inspiration:
- Stay up to date with fashion trends by attending runway shows, street fashion events, and seeking inspiration from diverse sources.
- Travel to factories for development and execution of programs, as well as for inspiration for upcoming seasons.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field.
- Experience in fashion design, with a proven track record of delivering successful collections.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other design software.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fabric properties, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
