Associate Technical Architect - Data (Oracle)

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Associate Technical Architect - Data (Oracle) in United States.

This role is a high-impact technical architecture position focused on leading complex Oracle database modernization and large-scale cloud migration initiatives into AWS environments. You will be responsible for designing, executing, and optimizing enterprise-grade database transformation strategies, ensuring performance, scalability, and data integrity throughout the migration lifecycle. Acting as a key technical leader, you will bridge legacy Oracle systems with modern cloud-native architectures using AWS data services and advanced data engineering practices. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams including application, infrastructure, and analytics stakeholders to ensure seamless execution and post-migration stability. You will work in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment where reliability, precision, and technical excellence are critical. This is an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge cloud and data transformation programs at enterprise scale.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead end-to-end Oracle database migration initiatives from on-prem environments (including Exadata) to AWS platforms such as RDS, EC2, and Aurora PostgreSQL-compatible systems.
  • Design and implement strategies for schema conversion, validation, and cross-platform database transformation (Oracle to PostgreSQL/MySQL where applicable).
  • Ensure minimal downtime through CDC-based replication, transaction continuity, and robust cutover planning.
  • Perform advanced Oracle performance tuning, including indexing strategies, partitioning, and query optimization prior to migration.
  • Utilize AWS DMS and SCT for full load migrations and continuous data replication workflows.
  • Work with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and legacy ETL pipelines, modernizing them using AWS Glue, EMR, or PySpark frameworks.
  • Build secure, scalable, and highly available data architectures across AWS cloud environments.
  • Develop and manage data validation, reconciliation, rollback, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth migration execution and post-migration optimization.
  • Support data lake implementation using S3 and manage metadata through AWS Glue Data Catalog.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in database administration, migration, and data engineering across Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL environments.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Oracle databases, including Exadata environments and enterprise-scale deployments.
  • Deep experience in Oracle performance tuning, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization techniques.
  • Proven experience using migration tools such as AWS DMS, Schema Conversion Tool (SCT), Data Pump, RMAN, or GoldenGate.
  • Solid experience designing and implementing AWS-based data architectures including RDS, EC2, Aurora, and S3-based data lakes.
  • Strong knowledge of ETL pipelines, including Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and modern frameworks like AWS Glue, PySpark, or EMR.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python/PySpark, and shell scripting for automation and data processing.
  • Experience with backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies in database environments.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills in complex enterprise environments.
  • Nice to have: AWS certifications, experience with Terraform/CloudFormation, CI/CD pipelines, Redshift, Lake Formation, and data mesh concepts.

Benefits:

  • Opportunity to work at a leading AI-first digital engineering organization driving large-scale cloud and data transformation programs.
  • Exposure to cutting-edge technologies in AI, ML, data engineering, and cloud platforms across global enterprise clients.
  • Work on complex, high-impact migration projects for Fortune 500 organizations.
  • Strong learning culture with continuous upskilling and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborative environment with highly skilled engineering and architecture teams.
  • Opportunity to contribute to innovative, research-driven solutions with real-world impact.
  • Access to advanced cloud ecosystems and modern data engineering toolsets.
  • Career growth in a fast-scaling, innovation-focused global organization.
