Description:

Join the Horizon Construction Group team which is built for long-term stability. Our work pipeline is strong and consistent, with ongoing projects and repeat clients that keep our field operations moving year-round. As an Assistant Field Superintendent, you’ll step into a dependable role with clear expectations, steady hours, and the support of an established leadership team—offering the confidence that comes from working for a company focused on sustainable growth and long-term employment.

We are seeking an Assistant Field Superintendent to support day-to-day field operations on expedited large-scale residential construction projects in the Oak Creek and Mt. Pleasant areas. This role is hands-on in the field, with a strong focus on carpenter and concrete scopes, schedule coordination, quality control, and jobsite safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Field Superintendent with daily supervision of jobsite activities, including carpentry and concrete trades.
  • Help drive schedules on fast-paced/expedited projects by coordinating subcontractors, deliveries, inspections, and rework.
  • Perform daily/weekly quality walks; verify work is installed per plans, specifications, and company standards.
  • Support jobsite safety by reinforcing safe work practices, maintaining a clean/organized site, and documenting issues as needed.
  • Coordinate procurement at the subcontractor level (e.g., cabinets and other critical materials) to ensure lead times and deliveries align with the build schedule.
  • Track field progress and communicate updates, constraints, and risks to the Superintendent and project team.
  • Assist with punch lists, warranty items, and closeout activities to achieve on-time turnover.
  • Maintain accurate field documentation (daily reports, photos, checklists) and support permit/inspection readiness.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of field experience in residential construction, with exposure to carpentry and/or concrete scopes.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and basic schedules.
  • Working knowledge of jobsite safety requirements and a safety-first mindset.
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Clear, professional communication skills with crews, trade partners, and (when needed) homeowners/clients.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance.

Work Environment:

This is an on-site field position working in active construction environments in varying weather conditions. The role involves frequent walking/standing, climbing, and the ability to lift typical construction materials as needed. Hours may vary based on project schedules and deadlines.
