About This Position
Job Summary: The Manager, Strategy conducts qualitative and quantitative analyses, planning and project management support for organizational strategic priorities. The Manager of Strategy ,is responsible for evaluating organizational needs, identifying strategic opportunities, and supporting the development of actionable recommendations that align with WMCHealth’s long-term vision. The manager partners closely with clinical, operational, and administrative leaders to shape strategic direction, conduct market assessments, and support the design and implementation of systemlevel initiatives. Additionally, this position oversees effective monitoring, reporting, and communication of strategic outcomes, ensuring transparency into progress and impact.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Analyses
- Conducts complex qualitative and quantitative analyses of the market, operations or finances to support strategy development and implementation at the network, regional or service line level.
- Translates complex, multisource data (e.g., SPARCS, claims, internal datasets) into clear, actionable strategic recommendations for leadership, and develops presentationready deliverables that effectively communicate insights through visuals, graphics, and charts.
- Conducts and summarizes the competitive landscape, making recommendations on opportunities, risks, and considerations.
- Proactively identifies emerging trends, innovations, and strategic opportunities for network growth and development.
Strategic Planning & Implementation
- Drives assigned strategic work streams by defining clear deliverables, rigorously tracking initiatives and key performance indicators, ensuring timely progress, and maintaining alignment with organizational priorities.
- Supports planning and content development for all strategy retreats, including building competitive market insights, assessing progress toward the strategic plan, preparing key performance metrics and engagement activities.
- Provides cross-functional support to other department areas including Regulatory Planning and Business Development to ensure integration and consistency across departmental priorities.
Executive Communication & Presentation Development
- Creates executivelevel presentations and strategic narratives to support senior leadership decision-making.
- Prepares reports for network leadership review meetings and presents progress.
Project Management & Implementation Support
- Provides support for projects including crafting agendas, identifying key decisions, and tracking action items.
- Collaborates with strategy, planning, and business development colleagues to advance project management, analytics, and reporting processes.
- Assists in updating and maintaining dashboards, scorecards, and tracking tools to monitor progress and performance of approved initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement & Network Coordination
- Coordinates with operational leaders, service line leadership, hospital leadership, support services, and clinical stakeholders to gather information needed to advance strategic priorities.
- Facilitates communication and coordination with stakeholders across the network to ensure clarity, alignment, and timely execution of strategic initiatives.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of strategy analytics or strategic planning experience required; experience within a health system or academic medical center in project management is preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred with specialization in health-related fields: business, administration, public health or other.
Licenses / Certifications,
Other: Strong relationship building skills with operational leaders, providers, external partners, and other stakeholders. Excellent communication skills (oral and written). Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Knowledge of project management, data collection, analysis and presentation skills. Ability to manage multiple complex projects and deadlines with little direction. Ability to work both independently and within a team. High proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint required. Previous experience with PowerBi, Tableau or other BI software preferred.
