Description/Job Summary
Lindahl Reed is seeking energy professionals to provide Resource Efficiency Manager (REM) services for the United States Navy. REM candidates will provide project management, engineering, technical knowledge, and analysis of highly specialized energy management applications, databases, and systems, as well as high-level functional support for evaluation and implementation advice on energy information management, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and energy resilience projects. The REM candidates will also be responsible for implementing sound, cost-effective energy, and water management practices to enhance energy security, independence, and sustainability as mandated by legislation and various Executive Orders. The candidates will support the development of energy conservation, renewable energy, and facility improvement initiatives and projects.
Position Responsibilities
- Support energy planning, including the development of Installation Energy Program Summary (IEPS)
- Conduct energy audits and develop energy conservation measures
- Develop energy efficiency improvements for facilities
- Analyze energy, water, and other utility data
- Provide energy training and support awareness initiatives
- Conduct design reviews
- Support the development of energy resilience projects, including the integration of onsite renewable energy, energy storage, and microgrids
- Support energy project implementation through Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) projects, Utility Energy Services Contract (UESC) projects, Energy Resilience and Conservation Investment Program (ERCIP) projects, and other energy funded projects
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Candidates must possess one of the following combinations of education and experience:
- A four-year engineering degree (preferably in mechanical or electrical engineering) and/or a registered Professional Engineer registration with a minimum of 5 years of experience in energy management.
- An Environmental Science, business or related degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience in energy management.
- A two-year technical degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in energy management.
- No degree with a minimum of 12 years of experience in energy management.
- Current Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), or ability to obtain certification within 12 months.
- Strong knowledge of utility information systems, metering, mechanical and lighting systems, and federal energy requirements and programs
- Experience with energy auditing, project development, life-cycle cost analysis, and building/facility operations
- Experience supporting the development and implementation of energy projects using alternative financing mechanisms.
- Knowledge of Department of Defense energy management requirements
- Excellent oral/written communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
- Self-starter, driven and able to work with limited direction under target timelines
- Working knowledge of standard office computer software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- US Citizenship is required.
- Ability to pass a government-administered background investigation in order to be granted a Common Access Card and access to government IT systems.
