Summary:
BrandSafway is seeking a Tax Analyst who will report to the Tax Manager within the Global Tax Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with U.S. and International tax provision, compliance, planning, and reporting requirements of BrandSafway. Activities include conducting necessary data extraction, manipulation and analysis to support tax accounting and financial reporting, as well as preparation and analysis of various schedules supporting compliance reporting requirements and documentation for US income and franchise tax returns. Additional responsibilities include assistance with other projects as needed. Successful candidates will have a keen interest in understanding how things work, will think outside of the box, and ask thought-provoking questions, challenging the same as last year mentality.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation of the Companys quarterly and annual worldwide tax provision, including effective tax rate, deferred taxes, specific tax adjustments (valuation allowances and reserves), tax exposures and disclosures for external and internal reporting purposes.
Preparation and maintenance of tax workpapers, including taxable income calculations and estimate/extension calculations for income tax compliance.
Extracting and analyzing data from the Companys ERP system and/or consolidation software to facilitate and support analysis, reconciliations and preparation of tax-related information, schedules, and disclosures.
Assist in maintaining trackers, information requests to controllers / outside parties, and proper documentation throughout all workpapers.
Calculations required for the international tax aspects of the quarterly and annual tax provision, as well as the US income tax return, including GILTI, BEAT, FDII, etc.
Identification of improvement opportunities for income tax accounting and income tax compliance processes and procedures including but not limited to automation, worldwide data collection and integration with other tax and finance department processes (such as compliance and estimated payment processes).
Conducting tax research on various tax matters.
Special projects and other duties as assigned.
Work location: hybrid located in the Atlanta metro area. On-site approximately one time per week on average. Occasional travel within North America may be required.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance.
CPA not required but prefer at least working towards obtaining certification.
Minimum 1-2 years of public accounting or related industry, or a combination of the two.
General knowledge of tax accounting principles and corporate income and franchise taxes.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate information across several parties, and manage competing priorities to meet both statutory and internal deadlines.
Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently with confidence on new or complex tasks.
Strong Microsoft Excel and application software skills. Previous experience with Alteryx, OneSource Tax Provision, Dataflow, HFM, and/or Microsoft Access is a plus.
