This role owns the end-to-end delivery of advanced manufacturing equipment and the facility systems that support it—bridging engineering design and on-site execution in a live production environment.

You will manage complex, multidisciplinary installations involving presses, furnaces, coating and machining systems, utilities, and structural scope, coordinating closely with OEMs, contractors, EH&S, and internal manufacturing teams. Operating at the intersection of engineering rigor and operational reality, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to specification—driving production readiness, capacity expansion, and long-term reliability as Niron grows.

What you'll do

  • Manage end-to-end project delivery for installation of magnet manufacturing equipment, including presses, furnaces, coating systems, machining cells, material handling systems, and related production assets.
  • Lead facilities-related scope supporting equipment installation, including power distribution, compressed air, process gases, cooling water, HVAC, foundations, rigging, and structural modifications.
  • Coordinate with equipment OEMs, engineering consultants, contractors, trades, EH&S, and internal manufacturing stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, scope definitions, risk registers, and commissioning plans.
  • Ensure installations meet engineering standards, OEM requirements, utility capacities, safety regulations, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Manage shutdown planning, production coordination, and phased installations to minimize operational disruption.
  • Lead contractor selection, bid evaluations, contract administration, and on-site construction oversight.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to equipment integration, utilities, safety, quality, and production readiness.
  • Conduct and support Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) and Pre-Startup Safety
  • Reviews (PSSR) to ensure safe equipment installation, commissioning, and operational readiness.
  • Drive formal change management for scope, cost, and schedule impacts.
  • Support equipment startup, commissioning, validation, and handoff to operations and maintenance teams.
  • Prepare and present project updates, cost forecasts, and risk summaries to leadership.

You might be a great fit if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, with a preference for Mechanical Engineering.
  • Relevant years of professional experience delivering industrial or manufacturing projects.
  • Project management experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, or production facility equipment installations.
  • Demonstrated ownership and successful execution of Facilities projects, validating project management capability end-to-end.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment integration within existing facilities.
  • Experience managing projects involving heavy equipment, utilities, safety systems and contractor coordination.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge of industrial codes and standards (e.g., electrical, mechanical, structural, safety).
  • Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent).
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in magnet manufacturing, powder metallurgy, advanced manufacturing, or materials processing environments.
  • Project Management certification (PMP, CAPM, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with equipment commissioning, production ramp-up, and operational readiness.
  • Experience working in an active manufacturing facility with live production constraints.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Management.

Key Competencies:
