Schedule: Part-Time Saturday and Sunday 10am - 3pm

What You’ll Do:
• Assists the lead chef in providing all meals for clients and approved staff as outlined in the recipe binder; in collaboration with the Lead Dietitian for challenge meals (chefs choice, family style, etc.)
• Maintains the physical safety of all clients e.g. promptly cleans spills, etc.
• Follows all safety and sanitation procedures as outlined by ServSafe including, but not limited to, wearing hair coverings & gloves in the food preparation area.
• Ensures that knives and other items having potential for harm are safely contained at all times that they are not in use, locking up knives as necessary.
• Communicates effectively with direct care and dietitians; reports any communication difficulties or issues to Lead Chef.
• Considers client allergies, food preferences and the individual meal plan when preparing meals. Allergies and preferences must be accommodated if approved by a dietitian.
• Completes assigned tasks and duties under the direction of the Lead Chef. Duties may include taking inventory of food and supplies, ordering food, recipe development, safety & sanitation of food storage and related equipment, and other duties as assigned.
• Completes daily/weekly tasks in a timely manner.
• Demonstrates positive attitude and team collaboration within the workplace with behavior that supports administrative and facility decisions; creates atmosphere of mutual trust, harmony, acceptance and respect within the community.
• Participates in and contributes to performance improvement and client safety activities of the facility.
• Demonstrates knowledge and effectively implements the fire/safety program including the following: client safety, security, emergency procedures, fire procedures, internal and external disaster procedures, life safety and adverse medication reactions.
Qualifications:
• Current ServSafe Certification
• Requires a high school diploma and 1-2 years of experience in the field.
• Maintain food safety standards and practices as determined by The Joint Commission (Health Dept. Standards)
• Ability to perform full range of culinary functions.
