Primary Function:
The primary function of the Dock Coordinator is to ensure orders are completed, shipped, and delivered in a timely manner. This requires team training, analytical skills, organization, effective communication, and dedication to safety and quality are expected.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily shipments for pick-up and delivery.
- Metering packages using FedEx & UPS World Ship
- Stages, Pallet wraps & processed pending orders needing to ship. (Small package, pallet orders & truckloads)
- Ensure products are pulled for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
- Verifies documentation such as delivery notes & bills of lading, shipping orders using computer-based technology.
- Step in: Serving as back up or daily support to the shipping team as needed is required. (Completing tasks such as picking, packing, metering, shipping documents, etc.)
- Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion
- Updating the shipping portal with tracking information to ensure a seamless invoicing process.
- Address any carrier concerns, gathering quotes & coordinating the shipping dock operations.
- Schedule carrier pickups for various shipment types (LTL, FTL, LCL, CL).
- All other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Hazardous material training (DOT/ IATA) strongly preferred.
- 1-2 years’ experience in a comparable role required, preferably with a chemical company.
- Ability to lift/ move up to 40 pounds routinely.
- Demonstrated computer skills, including intermediate Word and Excel.
- Powered Industrial Lift Truck certification/ license.
- Experienced working with FedEx, UPS and LTL Carriers
