About the Role

Drive machining excellence and lead from the front. This role owns the end-to-end machining strategy while overseeing daily operations, elevating performance, and relentlessly pursuing continuous improvement. You’ll champion SQDC to ensure world-class quality and on-time delivery while building a culture of accountability and results. Leading a team of supervisors, managers, and skilled contributors, you’ll align people, processes, and technology to deliver measurable impact.

What You’ll Do (Essential Job Functions):

  1. Lead and develop a high-performing machining organization

  2. Oversee high-precision machining operations

  3. Develop, guide, and deliver machining strategy, tooling, fixturing, and process optimization

  4. Develop, guide, and deliver CNC programming strategy

  5. Oversee and manage operations of machining production areas to ensure volume, cost, utilization, and quality standards are achieved.

  6. Development of labor to CNC ratio optimization

  7. Reduction of Machine stops

  8. Increased time between machine stops

  9. Lead and manage machining teams

  10. Routine management tasks

  11. Workforce coaching and development

  12. Resource management and workforce planning

  13. Leading machining philosophies to drive core competency of machining brazements such as:

  14. Dynamic milling

  15. Distortion Control

  16. Adaptive machining

  17. Coordinate machine maintenance, turnarounds, and downtime for efficiency.

  18. Monitor production metrics and create actionable improvements from data insights.

  19. Serve as subject matter expert for resolving escalated issues, defects, etc.

  20. Collaborates cross functional and with business leaders to develop, implement, and deliver safety, quality, delivery, cost, and efficiency/utilization programs.

  21. Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives that identify, control, and prevent defects

  22. Develop and implement lean manufacturing initiatives that improve efficiencies, including 5S tools and culture.

  23. Develop and execute capacity models to optimize spindle utilization, labor efficiency, and throughput.

  24. Lead shop floor scheduling strategy (shift models, staffing ratios, machine loading).

  25. Establish standardized work for programming, setup, tooling, and inspection.

  26. Drive process discipline across shifts to ensure repeatability and predictability.

  27. Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring (Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  1. Active Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt

  2. 5-axis machining knowledge

  3. CMM inspection methodology knowledge

  4. Demonstrated experience scaling machining operations (growth, new programs, and/or facility expansion)

Your Experience (Minimum Qualifications):

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in related field. May be substituted by commensurate experience.

  1. Must have minimum 15 years of experience in high-precision aluminum machining.

  2. Must have exposure to AS9100 / aerospace and defense production

  3. Must have at least 5 years of experience in team management

  1. Must demonstrate competency in:

  2. Mastercam programming

  3. Root Cause Analysis

  4. CNC Machining

  5. GD&T and blueprint interpretation

  6. Manufacturing process flow

  7. Quality Management System requirements

  8. Lean Six Sigma and Lean Metrics (OEE, utilization, etc.)

  9. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and provide appropriate documentation establishing identity and employment eligibility as required by applicable law.

  10. Must qualify as a “U.S.” Persons as defined in 22 CFR § 120.62 under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) in

  11. order to comply with applicable export control laws and regulations.

  12. Must be able to successfully complete a drug screening in accordance with the Company’s drug testing policy and applicable law.

  13. Must be able to successfully complete a criminal background check in accordance with the Company’s screening policy and applicable law.

Pay range: $145,000-$200,000 salary annually based on qualifications and experience.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

The manufacturing facility may expose workers to loud noises, chemicals, and other occupational hazards; personal protective equipment is provided by The Company.

Moving/traversing within the work area more than 50% of the day
Communicating (verbal/written) (frequently)

Up to 50 lbs of lift, pull, and/or push force (occasionally)
