About This Position
Job Purpose
The Software Support Specialist will be responsible for day to day support, maintenance, testing and training of SmartVMA software applications. Provides Technical Assistance to end users and Reseller (Distributor) representatives. Answers questions or resolve issues for clients in person, via telephone or help desk system.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Focus on end user troubleshooting
· Manage queue of support tickets
· Train end users on applicable software packages
· Escalate issues to vendors as needed
· Work on database/back end set up to prepare for new client use
· Interact with end users, vendors, and other participants to ensure the efficient utilization of systems according to industry standards
· Ability to communicate with non-technical users
· Monitor and implement cloud solutions using vendor specific cloud technologies (Amazon Web Services).
· Performs many duties involving IT functions including, but not limited to, network, servers, clients, Internet, Intranet, and database administration
· Cross-train as needed to support or back up team members
Qualifications
- HS Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associates' degree or BS in Computer Science, MIS, or other technical field preferred.
- 3 – 5 years of help-desk experience required.
- Medium level proficiency with MySQL preferred.
