About This Position

Field Engineer- Natural Gas

Position Overview:

The Field Engineer provides oversight and project support by monitoring and reporting production, quality, schedule, financial performance, and customer contract compliance standards, including traceability and as-built drawings.

Selected candidate will be provided with a company vehicle and gas card to perform the duties of this position.

Essential Functions:

Project Planning

  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and timelines.
  • Identify project resources, including personnel, budgets, and materials.

Team Leadership

  • Provide clear direction and daily guidance to crews and subcontractors.
  • Motivate and inspire team members to achieve project milestones and goals.
  • Proactively resolve conflicts and maintain team alignment.

Project Execution

  • Oversee field implementation and ensure adherence to project plans.
  • Track progress against milestones and manage resources effectively.
  • Monitor budgets, labor, and equipment utilization to minimize waste and cost.

Communication Management

  • Act as the primary liaison between clients, field teams, and stakeholders.
  • Deliver timely and accurate progress updates and reports.
  • Conduct regular project meetings to maintain visibility and accountability.

Change Management

  • Evaluate change requests and assess their impact on scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Implement approved changes while maintaining alignment with project objectives.
  • Communicate and document all project adjustments clearly and efficiently.

Closure and Evaluation

  • Prepare final reports, closeout documentation, and project summaries.
  • Finalize financials, release resources, and obtain client acceptance.
  • Capture lessons learned to support continuous improvement across future projects.

Requirements

  • Microsoft Office Suite: Basic proficiency (Excel, Outlook, Word, Project)
  • Work Management Systems: Familiarity with digital project or asset management tools
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across field and office environments
  • Demonstrated experience in underground utility construction preferred
