PanCare of Florida is seeking a skilled, compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) to join our primary care team in delivering high-quality, patient-centered healthcare to underserved and diverse communities. In this role, you will practice medicine in collaboration with supervising physicians while playing a vital role in improving access to care, promoting preventive health, and supporting chronic disease management.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Obtain comprehensive patient histories and perform physical examinations
  • Diagnose conditions and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
  • Prescribe medications in accordance with Florida statutes governing Physician Assistants
  • Perform minor procedures within scope of practice and physician authorization
  • Order, review, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic studies (labs, imaging, EKGs, etc.)
  • Coordinate referrals for specialty services not offered at the health center
  • Provide patient counseling, education, and preventive care services
  • Participate in outreach and off-site healthcare programs as assigned by the Medical Director
  • Supervise students and trainees during clinical rotations as assigned
  • Comply with infection control policies, including universal precautions, and ensure adherence by support staff
  • Participate in peer review, quality assurance, provider meetings, and clinical committees
  • Assist with updating clinical protocols and standards of practice
  • Participate in pharmacy-related activities as appropriate
  • Support outside medical public relations and community engagement efforts
  • Share telephone call responsibilities with supervising physicians as required
  • Adhere to UDS productivity standards and organizational performance expectations
  • Participate in safety programs, including emergency response activities
  • Engage in ongoing quality improvement initiatives within the clinical area

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Proficiency in medication prescribing and treatment planning
  • Ability to perform minor procedures safely and effectively

  • Strong collaboration skills within multidisciplinary care teams
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, regulatory compliance, and professional standards
  • Ability to manage complex cases in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Commitment to culturally competent, patient-centered care

Education & Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Active, unrestricted Florida Physician Assistant license
  • Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Eligible for and insurable under professional malpractice coverage
  • Prior primary care or community-based healthcare experience preferred
  • Experience working in FQHC or underserved settings a plus

Physical Requirements

This role requires:

  • Prolonged standing and walking during clinic operations
  • Manual dexterity for examinations and minor procedures
  • Ability to bend, reach, and assist patients as needed
  • Visual and auditory acuity for patient assessments and documentation
  • Stamina to work in a busy clinical environment
  • Participation in shared call coverage as required
