This role sits at the intersection of technology, public service, and digital transformation, supporting governments in modernizing core operational systems such as budgeting, HR, IT, and digital infrastructure. The position plays a key role in designing and delivering technology-driven solutions that improve efficiency, transparency, and citizen outcomes across state and local agencies. You will work in a highly collaborative, mission-driven environment, engaging directly with public sector leaders, nonprofit partners, and technology stakeholders. The role blends hands-on project delivery with strategic problem-solving, including digital transformation initiatives, AI experimentation, and process redesign. It offers exposure to diverse projects ranging from pilots to full-scale implementations. - Support the design and scoping of technology-focused projects through research methods such as interviews, surveys, policy reviews, and process mapping to define clear and actionable solutions.
- Develop and deliver project outputs including work plans, product roadmaps, dashboards, training materials, policy documentation, reports, and communication tools tailored to government stakeholders.
- Lead day-to-day implementation activities such as workshops, stakeholder meetings, coaching sessions, and coordination with internal and external partners to ensure effective execution.
- Contribute to change management efforts, helping governments adopt new digital tools and processes while identifying root challenges and recommending improvements.
- Monitor trends in government technology, contribute to thought leadership, and support fundraising and reporting activities as needed.
- Experiment with new technologies, including AI tools and digital platforms, to improve internal processes and external solutions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in technology, public sector work, or related fields.
- At least 3 years of experience in government technology, civic tech, product management, IT, or a related discipline.
- Strong project management skills with experience handling multiple priorities and delivering high-quality outputs under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with product development or UX methodologies such as agile, design thinking, or user research, along with tools like Figma or Miro.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort using collaboration and digital tools such as Zoom, Teams, and Power Automate.
- Experience or willingness to work with generative AI tools in day-to-day workflows.
- Ability and willingness to travel periodically within the United States.
