Job Description

The Farm Store Shop Technician is responsible for performing vehicle and equipment maintenance, including tire installation and repair. This role supports exceptional customer service, promotes a positive team environment, and ensures safety compliance. The technician plays a vital role in supporting the operational success of the farm store by maintaining high service standards, fostering collaboration, and upholding company policies and procedures. This position requires availability to work every other weekend.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following responsibilities are representative of the role, though additional duties may be assigned.

  • Perform tire repairs and installations on a variety of vehicles and equipment in a prompt, professional manner
  • Provide outstanding customer service by responding to service requests efficiently and knowledgeably
  • Maintain a solid understanding of agronomy and automotive equipment, including safe maintenance practices
  • Identify tire types, grades, and quality to properly repair, maintain, and sell tires
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and the ability to work in confined or tight spaces
  • Assist with loading and unloading grain and Farm Store products or equipment as required
  • Accurately prepare and process sales tickets
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, reporting facility issues to the supervisor as needed
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and on time, in compliance with company procedures
  • Learn and follow all relevant safety policies, procedures, and government regulations
  • Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Support interdepartmental operations to achieve overall company objectives
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to improve skills and job performance
  • Attend required safety and departmental meetings
  • Communicate effectively—both verbally and in writing—with customers, coworkers, and management
  • Consistently adhere to safety standards and proactively promote a safe work environment
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, codes, and regulations
  • Present a clean, professional appearance while on duty
  • Demonstrate reliability through consistent and punctual attendance
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management

Education & Experience

  • Less than a high school diploma
  • 1–3 months of related experience or training, or equivalent combination
  • Familiarity with mechanical work preferred

Certifications & Licenses

  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • LP certification or ability to obtain and maintain
