Position Summary:
Element Solutions is looking for a motivated and highly experienced Senior Enterprise Architect to support a government contract working hybrid, with additional on-site presence as required by the client. The Senior Enterprise Architect is responsible for designing and overseeing the overall structure and evolution of the organization’s IT systems, applications, and processes to ensure alignment with strategic business objectives. This role establishes enterprise architecture frameworks, standards, and roadmaps that guide technology investments and ensure integration across platforms and systems. The Senior Enterprise Architect evaluates current architecture, identifies gaps and risks, and recommends solutions that improve operational efficiency, scalability, and innovation across the technology landscape.
- Design and oversee the enterprise-wide architecture strategy to ensure alignment between business goals and technology capabilities.
- Develop and maintain enterprise architecture frameworks, standards, and governance processes that guide system design and technology investments.
- Create and maintain technology roadmaps that support long-term organizational strategy and digital transformation initiatives.
- Analyze existing systems, infrastructure, and application architecture to identify gaps, redundancies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Recommend and design solutions that improve system efficiency, scalability, integration, and performance.
- Ensure interoperability and integration across enterprise systems, applications, and data platforms.
- Collaborate with business leaders, product teams, and technical stakeholders to translate business requirements into architectural solutions.
- Provide architectural guidance and oversight during solution design, development, and implementation.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to support innovation and modernization initiatives.
- Support governance processes to ensure adherence to enterprise architecture standards, security policies, and compliance requirements.
- Document enterprise architecture artifacts including reference architectures, system diagrams, and architectural decision records.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in IT architecture, systems engineering, or enterprise technology strategy.
- Demonstrated ability to produce well-structured architecture artifacts and diagrams suitable for executive, technical, and governance audiences.
- Experience analyzing interdependencies across business processes, data assets, analytical models, and technology platforms.
- Ability to collaborate with business and technical teams to align process designs with architecture constraints.
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, FEAF) and their practical application.
- Experience assessing technical debt, system interdependencies, architectural risk, and modernization readiness.
- Experience supporting or informing technology modernization, cloud migration, or platform rationalization initiatives.
- Strong written and oral skills.
- Experience utilizing agile methods and tools (Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Trello).
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strategic thinking and long-term technology planning.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to executive and non-technical audiences.
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
- US Citizenship required.
- Must reside in the Continental US; and be within driving distance to Washington, DC.
- Depending on the government agency, specific requirements may include public trust background check or security clearance.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field from an accredited institution. .
- Professional certification in TOGAF, Certified Enterprise Architect, or similar architecture certification.
- Experience supporting data-intensive, analytical, research, financial, or regulatory environments.
- Experience working in federated ownership models and complex governance structures.
- Federal government or financial services industry experience.
- Experience with cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid environments.
$175,000 - $215,000 a year
