Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Level 1 Monitoring Technician to join our Network Operations Center
(NOC) team. This role is responsible for real-time monitoring of network infrastructure, with a specific focus on the 5/3
network environment. The technician will utilize ServiceNow to log, track, and escalate incidents, ensuring timely and
accurate reporting of all network activities and anomalies.
The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of network operations, strong documentation skills, and the
ability to communicate effectively with internal teams. This position plays a critical role in maintaining network stability and
visibility by providing first-level support and clear reporting on active events and performance metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor network systems, servers, and applications using NOC tools and dashboards.
Respond to alerts and incidents, perform initial diagnostics, and escalate as needed.
Log and track issues in the ticketing system (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for troubleshooting and escalation.
Communicate outages and incidents to internal teams and stakeholders.
Assist in generating daily/weekly performance and incident reports.
Participate in shift rotations to ensure 24/7 coverage.
Required Qualifications:
Valid CCNA certification (Cisco Certified Network Associate).
Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrates a proactive attitude will enable us to stay ahead of potential issues and seize opportunities early
Basic understanding of networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing & switching.
Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix).
Experience with ticketing systems and incident management.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ years of experience in a NOC or IT support role.
Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
ITIL Foundation certification is a bonus.
Work Schedule:
Rotational shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
On-call availability as required.
