Job Description

Staff Data Scientist

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Staff Data Scientist in Canada.

This role sits at the core of a high-growth marketing intelligence platform, where data science directly powers how leading eCommerce brands understand and optimize their marketing performance. You will work across the full modeling lifecycle, from research and statistical experimentation to production-grade implementation of advanced measurement systems. The position focuses on building and improving methodologies such as media mix modeling, incrementality testing, causal inference, and attribution frameworks. You will operate at the intersection of research and product, turning complex statistical concepts into scalable, production-ready systems that influence real business decisions. This is a high-ownership role where your work directly improves measurement accuracy, customer insights, and revenue optimization. You will also collaborate closely with engineering, product, and customers to ensure models are robust, interpretable, and impactful in real-world environments.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop and evolve statistical and causal inference methodologies supporting marketing measurement systems such as MMM, incrementality, and attribution models.
  • Design, implement, and enhance large-scale experimentation frameworks including A/B testing, geo experiments, and quasi-experimental methods.
  • Improve the accuracy, scalability, and robustness of media mix modeling and related predictive systems.
  • Write production-quality Python and SQL code to integrate statistical models into scalable data platforms.
  • Assess model assumptions, identify sources of bias, and implement strategies to mitigate errors in real-world datasets.
  • Debug and resolve data and modeling issues in production systems to ensure reliability of customer-facing insights.
  • Translate complex statistical outputs into clear, actionable insights for internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy and maintain end-to-end data science pipelines in production.
  • Contribute to the evolution of experimentation standards, modeling practices, and measurement frameworks.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or applied statistical modeling roles.
  • Strong academic background in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a highly quantitative STEM field.
  • Deep expertise in statistical modeling, causal inference, and experimental design.
  • Hands-on experience with A/B testing, power analysis, and interpreting experimental lift.
  • Strong understanding of regression analysis, time series modeling, Bayesian methods, and model evaluation.
  • Proven experience building production-ready data science or machine learning systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience in modern data platforms and ML/statistical libraries.
  • Ability to work with production systems and contribute to live model improvements.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex statistical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience or strong interest in marketing measurement, attribution, or incrementality modeling is a strong plus.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, intellectual curiosity, and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary ranging from $180,000 to $230,000 USD depending on experience and location.
  • Equity package providing long-term growth participation.
  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage including medical, dental, and vision.
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan.
  • Flexible PTO policy plus 12 company-paid holidays.
  • 12 weeks of paid parental leave.
  • $500 home office stipend to support remote work setup.
  • Fully remote-friendly environment across Canada and the US.
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge marketing measurement and causal inference systems at scale.
