Pay Range: $19.58–$28.20/hour (based on experience)

As our Pharmacy Assistant, you’ll be the organizational backbone of the department, supporting Pharmacy leadership, managing daytoday operations, and ensuring smooth communication and workflow across the team.

Your Primary Impact: Administrative Support

Department & Leadership Support

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to Pharmacy leadership.
  • Manage calendars, schedule meetings, coordinate travel, and oversee department logistics.
  • Plan, coordinate, and support internal/external meetings, conferences, teleconferences, and special events.

Communication & Documentation

  • Prepare agendas, minutes, presentations, reports, spreadsheets, and correspondence.
  • Draft, edit, and proofread documents for accuracy, clarity, and formatting.
  • Serve as a professional point of contact for staff, visitors, patients, and external partners.

Office & Workflow Management

  • Oversee office operations including supplies, mail, filing systems, and equipment upkeep.
  • Maintain training and competency materials, policy documents, and departmental records.
  • Assist with departmental data analysis, administrative problemsolving, and process improvement.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment.

Secondary Responsibilities: Pharmacy Technician Support

(Performed under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist)

  • Assist with sterile and nonsterile medication preparation using proper technique.
  • Prepare labels, calculate quantities, and assemble medications for dispensing.
  • Stock automated dispensing cabinets and deliver STAT/nonSTAT medications.
  • Maintain controlled substance records and perform daily counts.
  • Support pharmacists with data entry, medication returns, outdated drug pulls, and patient-specific requests.
  • Follow pharmacy information system workflows and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Adhere to infection control standards and report medication-related issues or near misses.

What You Bring

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience:
    • 1–3 years administrative support experience required
    • Pharmacy technician experience preferred (not required)
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional organization and multitasking abilities
    • Strong written and verbal communication
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
    • High attention to detail and follow-through
    • Comfort managing frequent interruptions
    • Professional, personable, customer service-oriented demeanor
    • Discretion with confidential information
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills
  • Certification: Within one year - Colorado Pharmacy Technician certification. National CPhT preferred.
