About This Position

About this Role:
The Dual Enrollment Student Success Coordinator will help introduce high school students to a wide array of financial services and business opportunities by co-developing and piloting career enrichment programming. The Coordinator will also support one-on-one student advising, and assist with career exploration. Beyond classroom and workshop delivery, the Coordinator will serve as a consistent point of contact and near-peer support for students enrolled in the Dual Enrollment Finance class. They will work closely with the Financial Services & Business Pathway staff to ensure students are progressing toward career and college readiness. Finally, the Coordinator will support class facilitation, student academic progress, as well as helping students strengthen professional skills, while accessing resources for their next steps in education or employment.

You’ll be responsible for:
  • Attending Dual Enrollment classes to understand student expectations, facilitate content, and advise students with study strategies and academic skill development.
  • Developing individualized success plans with timely intervention strategies, such as tutoring or faculty meetings, to ensure students achieve credit-bearing grades.
  • Serving as facilitator and advisor for career exploration for a scaffolded learning experience, delivering specialized content through e-learning modules and interactive workshops.
  • Attending field trips as needed as part of students' Career Exploration Program.
  • Providing feedback to refine and improve student experience in programs.
  • Providing reports to program leadership and partners on student progress and achievement
About you:
  • Background in business, psychology, education or a related field.
  • Prior experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or advising adolescents.
  • Strong understanding of local schools, communities, and the barriers faced by Philadelphia students (preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of or interest in the financial services and business industry, with the ability to translate professional concepts into accessible learning experiences for high school students
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with students while professionally representing Heights during business site visits and partner interactions
  • Enthusiastic about creating a supportive, inclusive environment that empowers students to self-advocate and explore their talents
  • Comfortable adjusting to varying student needs and learning styles to foster academic success.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effectively interacting with youth and partners.
  • Commitment to timely data entry and confidentiality.
Heights employees:
  • Must meet expectations to report in-person on a schedule determined by their direct manager and/or the Vice President of the team.
  • Must meet PA State background check requirements [PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprint Check] at hire and every five years thereafter.
  • Strong orientation to customer service, particularly with regard to students, partners and colleagues
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office and related applications, as well as use of general office equipment (phones, computers, copiers, etc)
  • Fluency in the use of data and data systems. Maintains appropriate engagement with data entry, reporting and review.
  • Must adhere to COVID safety guidelines as established by Heights and/or its partners.
  • Office-based staff should be mindful of the organization’s strong recommendation that staff maintain up to date with COVID vaccination and boosters.
  • Site-based staff must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and must submit to any COVID testing or other health screenings as required by the Department of Human Services and/or the School District of Philadelphia.
