Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Pediatric Medical Scheduler & Medical Receptionist to join our specialty eye care practice. This role is essential in coordinating ophthalmic appointments, supporting families, and ensuring efficient clinic flow while delivering excellent patient service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm pediatric ophthalmology appointments (new patients & follow-ups)
- Manage referrals from optometrists, pediatricians, and other specialists
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information
- Communicate appointment instructions clearly to parents and guardians (dilation, arrival times, length of visit)
- Manage high call volumes in a fast-paced specialty clinic
- Document scheduling notes accurately in the EHR system
- Handle cancellations, waitlists, and urgent or time-sensitive eye conditions
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Prior medical scheduling or ophthalmology/optometry front desk experience (required)
- Experience in pediatrics or specialty healthcare (strongly preferred)
- Familiarity with ophthalmology terminology is a plus (strabismus, amblyopia, refractions, etc.)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Proficiency with EHR systems and basic computer skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required

The pay range for this role is:
13 - 17 USD per hour(Children's Eye Center of El Paso)
