Fiber Construction Supervisor at Rural Telephone Service Company Inc – Salina, Kansas

We’re looking for a hands-on, safety-minded leader to supervise the daily activities of our fiber construction team. This role is responsible for planning, scheduling, and overseeing construction projects to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and on time.

What You’ll Do

• Supervise and schedule daily work for fiber construction personnel
• Provide on-the-job training for job duties, equipment operation, and safety
• Oversee active construction projects, including staffing, equipment, and timelines
• Lead monthly safety training and ensure compliance with company and OSHA safety standards
• Report accidents, injuries, and property damage per company procedures
• Collaborate with management on project forecasting, budgets, and equipment needs
• Provide regular feedback, conduct performance evaluations, and support employee development

What You Bring

• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects
• Experience reading and interpreting maps, blueprints, schematics, and staking sheets
• Knowledge of telecommunications construction practices and safety procedures
• Experience with fiber optic fault location, splicing, and testing preferred
• Experience operating construction equipment such as trucks, plow, backhoe, trenching equipment and boring machine preferred
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid CDL

Education and Experience

High school diploma, or the equivalent, plus five years of construction, communications or utility experience or equivalent work experience. Must possess a valid driver’s license
