About the Role
Canon USA in Melville, NY is currently seeking a Salesforce Development Engineer (Engineer, Software Development). The Salesforce Development Engineer supports the design, development, and day-to-day stability of Salesforce across direct and indirect sales channels. This role works closely with the Senior Salesforce Engineer, Sales Technology, and IT teams to deliver enhancements, support consolidation efforts, and maintain reliable Salesforce operations. This is a hands-on role focused on Salesforce development, production support, and contributing to ongoing platform improvements.
This position is full time and offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and an option to work from home the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises requiring in office attendance on other days). Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs.
Your Impact
- Design, develop, test, and deploy Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Salesforce Flow, and declarative tools
- Support Salesforce functionality for direct and indirect sales channels, including partner and reseller use cases
- Assist with Salesforce org consolidation and modernization efforts, including data validation, migrations, and cleanup of legacy functionality
- Provide production support and break/fix, troubleshooting Apex, Flows, permissions, integrations, and performance issues
- Build and support basic Salesforce integrations, including REST/SOAP APIs and Apex REST services
- Support IT-led initiatives requiring Salesforce development, reporting, or data analysis
- Participate in testing, deployments, and post-release validation
- Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews
- Follow Salesforce security and data governance standards
- Stay current with Salesforce releases and best practices; suggest incremental improvements
- Timely delivery of Salesforce enhancements and fixes
- Reduced production issues and improved incident response times
- Effective contribution to consolidation and modernization initiatives
- Strong collaboration with Senior Engineers, IT, and Sales Technology partners
- Improved Salesforce reliability and maintainability
About You: The Skills & Expertise You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline required, plus 3 - 5 years of related experience, or a Master's degree in the field. *A note on degree requirements for this title: the term "engineering discipline" refers primarily to a degree in Mechanical, Software or Electrical Engineering, with additional consideration given to candidates who have degrees in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Biology or Chemistry if they have attended recognized engineering schools or otherwise demonstrate sufficient knowledge of engineering skills
- 3–5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development or solutions engineering experience
- Practical experience with:
- Apex
- Salesforce Flow
- Lightning Web Components (LWC)
- Working knowledge of Salesforce data models, security, and governor limits
- Experience supporting Salesforce in a production environment
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Ability to balance support work and project delivery
- Salesforce certifications (one or more preferred):
- Platform Developer I
- Salesforce Administrator
- App Builder
- Experience with:
- Direct and indirect sales channel models
- Salesforce integrations and APIs
- Org consolidation, data migrations, or platform clean-up
- Familiarity with:
- Salesforce DevOps tools or CI/CD (e.g., Copado, Gearset, Git-based workflows)
- Agile delivery and cross-functional collaboration
- Exposure to Experience Cloud, Omni-Channel, Email-to-Case, or Salesforce AI features (Einstein / Agentforce) is a plus, not required
We are providing the anticipated salary range for this role: $92,210 - $138,080 annually
