About This Position

Description:

Spiritual Formation and Discipleship

  • Develop and implement intentional spiritual growth opportunities for students, especially in grades 9–12, including discipleship groups, mentoring, and devotions.
  • Oversee and support student-led Bible studies, equipping students to lead with biblical understanding, integrity, and passion.
  • Coordinate student-led worship nights that foster authentic worship and student ownership of their faith.
  • Youth Ministry and Campus Engagement
  • Create a welcoming environment that encourages students at every level of spiritual maturity to participate, grow, and serve.
  • Maintain awareness of youth culture trends to connect biblical truth with real-life student experiences.
  • Develop systems for personal follow-up with students making spiritual decisions

Family and Community Ministry

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with parents and guardians to support spiritual formation in the home.
  • Provide pastoral care and counseling to school families, faculty, and students as needs arise.
  • Host Parent Prayer Groups to encourage prayer covering for students, faculty, and school leadership.
  • Serve as a liaison between LCCS and the broader Christian community, connecting with local churches and pastors to strengthen partnerships and build support networks for students and families.

Schoolwide Spiritual Leadership

  • Provide spiritual guidance and counsel for the administrative leadership team, staff, and faculty, including participation in planning and decision-making from a biblical worldview.
  • Plan and lead weekly PK–12 chapel services, incorporating student involvement, guest speakers, and engaging teaching that points to Christ.
  • Support teachers in integrating faith into classroom instruction and student life.

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Be a visible, relational presence on campus and at school events, actively seeking ways to support and encourage students and staff.
  • Disciple students so that when they graduate from LCCS, they do not graduate from their faith.
  • Partner with school leadership to uphold and advance the spiritual vision of LCCS in alignment with its mission and values.
  • Promote a culture of servant leadership, compassion, and Christ-centered unity.

Academic Responsibilities

  • Assess student work and record an adequate number of grades per subject in a timely, efficient manner.
  • Record student grades in gradebook
  • Report student attendance
  • Conduct on-going personal review of the curriculum for any deficiencies.
  • Participate in departmental/grade-level meetings for the purpose of reviewing and assessing curriculum and scope and sequence.
  • Prepare lesson plans to carry out the educational and curricular objectives set forth by the school.
  • Provide individual academic support for successful learning within the boundaries of the established curriculum.
  • Use a variety of effective teaching methods to reach students of varying learning styles.
  • Partner with parents and administration in order to help each child succeed.

Staff Responsibilities

  • Attend daily prayer and devotion time.
  • Serve as duty teacher before or after school, at lunch and between classes as assigned by the administration.
  • Participate in in-service and staff development opportunities as requested by the administration.
  • Teach bell-to-bell and assess your students' academic needs/success continually.
  • Keep grade level principal aware of the status of those students for whom the teacher is responsible, giving special consideration to any challenge’s students may be facing.
  • Communicate any maintenance or equipment needs to the administration.

Parental Responsibilities

  • Realize that the parent has been given the Biblical mandate to educate, and the school functions as an extension of the Christian home.
  • Communicate with parents liberally, giving special consideration to challenges and opportunities to share successes.
Requirements:

Qualifications and Other Skills Required

  • A deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a life that reflects the character of a servant leader.
  • Bachelor’s degree in ministry, theology, biblical studies, or a related field required; seminary or graduate theological training preferred.
  • 3–5+ years of ministry experience, preferably in youth or family ministry or in a Christian school setting.
  • Strong biblical teaching skills and the ability to connect with PK–12 students at all levels of spiritual development.
  • Experience leading worship, student ministry, and/or organizing large and small group ministry events.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A heart for pastoral care and a call to shepherd the next generation in truth and love.
  • Alignment with the school’s Statement of Faith and spiritual mission.
  • Excellent technology skills for working with iPad/computers/apple TVs/etc.
  • Excellent communication, troubleshooting and customer service skills required.
