Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of maintenance operations at our canned beverage manufacturing facility. This role requires a highly organized individual with excellent leadership skills and a strong technical background in mechanical and electrical systems. The Maintenance Manager will collaborate closely with production, engineering, and other departments to ensure optimal equipment performance, minimize downtime, and maintain a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and adherence to safety protocols across two manufacturing facilities.

Equipment Maintenance

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and minimize production disruptions.
  • Schedule and oversee maintenance activities, including routine inspections, repairs, and installations.

Troubleshooting

  • Identify and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and operational issues with production equipment.
  • Develop effective solutions to address problems in a timely manner, minimizing downtime and optimizing efficiency.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate records of spare parts inventory and ensure availability of necessary supplies to support maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with procurement and vendors to procure parts and materials as needed.

Safety Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and promote a culture of safety awareness among maintenance staff.
  • Support the enhancement and implementation of robust safety programs.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, reduce maintenance costs, and streamline maintenance processes.
  • Implement best practices and innovative technologies to optimize maintenance efficiency.

All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in maintenance management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food or beverage industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong experience with Allen-Bradley systems, preferred
  • Strong experience with SCADA systems, preferred
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance issues.
  • Expected to work flexible hours and respond to maintenance emergencies as needed.
