About This Position

The Aircrew Flight Equipment Support Technician is responsible for managing, performing and scheduling inspections, maintenance, and adjustments of aircrew flight equipment on site for Argentina’s F-16 pilot training program. This role performs and supports aviation resource management activities, including acquiring necessary equipment, tracking aircrew equipment status, assisting with scheduling requirements, and ensuring accuracy of applicable records and documentation, to support operational needs, while maintaining compliance with company policy and contract requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage, perform, and schedule inspections, maintenance, and adjustments of assigned aircrew flight equipment (AFE), associated supplies, and inventories assets.
  • Assess requirements and assists in the acquisition of necessary inventory to fulfill AFE needs for flight operations in Argentina for company aircrew on site and up to 20 FAA aircrew.
  • Inspects, maintains, pack sand adjusts AFE such as flight helmets, oxygen masks, harnesses, anti-G garments, parachutes, flotation devices, survival kits, and helmet mounted devices.
  • Repair fabric and rubber components, including protective clothing, flotation equipment, and various parachutes.
  • Evaluate problems and determine the feasibility of repair or replacement related to inspecting and repairing fabric, rubber equipment, and parachutes.
  • Install and remove aircraft installed AFE.
  • Use test equipment such as altimeters, oxygen testers, leakage testers, radio testers, and other types of testers to conduct reliability testing on AFE.
  • Maintain inspection and accountability documentation on AFE issued to aircrews or prepositioned on aircraft.
  • Maintain equipment inventory for AFE and other company durable equipment used to support Argentina flight training operations and provides to site leadership upon request.
  • Work directly with Ops Support personnel on the Company’s aviation resource management functions to ensure they are completed as required by company policy and contract requirements.
  • Report any hazards or potential safety risks (such as unsafe situations and activities) to a supervisor immediately.
  • Operate the Company’s resource management system to track pilot currencies, qualifications, and other pilot related training and programs.
  • Monitor individual flight requirements, company flying hours, and aviation requirement changes.
  • Review aviation mission accomplishment reports for accuracy and initiates actions to support aviation management policies and procedures.
  • Perform and manage aviation resource functions related to scheduling, standardization and evaluation, flying and ground training, aviation flight records, and company operations.
  • Schedule aircrew training and aircraft sorties and maintain mission information.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in use of Graduate Training Integration Management System (GTIMS), Aviation Resource Management System (ARMS), and Patriot Excalibur (PEX).
  • Ability to make sound administrative and procedural decisions and judgments.
  • Ability to plan, develop and coordinate multiple projects while fostering a positive work environment.
  • Ability to work closely with representatives of the FAA and other Government of Argentina agencies in support of flight operations in Argentina.
  • Ability to problem solve in a cross-cultural setting working with company personnel, civil authorities and government agencies of Argentina and the United States.
  • Proficient in the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
  • Highly organized, able to work independently, manage multiple oversight functions, and meet strict contractual requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Must not be barred from any military installation.
  • Must demonstrate safe and healthy workplace practices.
  • Must be able to travel within the US and internationally
  • Must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities of an AFE Support Technician in daily work performance.
  • Must be able to work in various weather environments and conditions.

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Department of Defense AFE Technician with qualification on ACES II Ejection Seats and fighter aircraft AFE.
  • Previous USAF Aircrew Flight Equipment (1P0X1) experience.
  • Previous experience in USAF Aviation Resource Management (1C0X2) or similar aviation resource management role supporting fighter aircraft operations, preferred.

SPECIAL WORK CONDITIONS

  • Must possess a valid U.S. passport with no travel restrictions, limitations, or disqualifications, with a validity extending a minimum 6 months beyond the projected assignment completion date.  
  • Must be able to secure all required work authorizations, including a valid work visa for the host country. Any prior immigration violations, criminal offenses, or adverse travel history that may prevent entry will not be considered.  
  • Adherence to the legal, regulatory, safety, and operational requirements of the host nation is mandatory throughout the duration of assignment. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.  
  • Must be able to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit, talk, walk, hear, see, and reach with hands and arms.  
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • This position requires close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.   
  • This role is performed around loud noises and hazardous chemicals with exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risks of electrical shock. The AFE Support Technician must be able to work in environments with exposure to noise, chemicals, dust, and varying weather conditions.   

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Any offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of all pre-employment requirements, which may include background checks, employment verification, security clearance, reference checks, and other conditions determined by the company.
  • This position is contingent upon contract award. An offer of employment may be extended prior to award; however, employment will be contingent upon the Company's award and subsequent contract funding.
