We are currently hiring a full-time Heavy Equipment Technician (Preferably 3rd-4th year apprentice or Journeyman) to join our Fort St. John team.

As the Heavy Equipment Technician, you are responsible for:
  • Accurately and efficiently completing customer and internal work orders, including engine rebuilds and hydraulic & electrical system repairs
  • Completing equipment troubleshooting and diagnostic repairs using diagnostic tools to identify mechanical, electrical, and fuel system failures
  • Installing new and added-on equipment and accessories
  • Performing service work as required (cleaning, lubricating, etc.) by developing and following maintenance schedules
  • Testing repaired equipment for proper performance
  • Providing customer service by educating customers on proper equipment usage, maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques
  • Monitoring parts usage and reporting any material issues
  • Completing parts requisition forms for replacement equipment, parts, and supplies
  • Document work performed in detailed, readable, and accurate manner per Rentco procedures
  • Traveling to customer locations to repair and/or service heavy equipment
  • Providing training and mentorship to HET apprentices
You have the following training, skills and abilities:
  • Journeyman/Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (or registered as a 3rd or 4th apprentice)
  • Class 5 licence with a clean driver’s abstract
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Intermediate computer skills
