Laboratory Collection Specialist at Freeman – Dickson, Tennessee

Job Purpose: The Collection Specialist will be tasked with collecting, logging, ordering, and processing specimens for drug testing. The Collection Specialist must be comfortable with working in an environment with patients being tested for controlled substances.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Collect, log, order and process specimens for the laboratory

• Maintain organization in the collection of all specimens

• File requisitions, chain of custody forms, and associated paperwork

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent

2. Experience in medical office or treatment clinic is preferred

3. Phlebotomy certification preferred

4. Ability to read names, test codes, follow basic instructions

5. Must have basic computer skills

6. Strong attention to detail

7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills

8. Self-motivated with the ability to work under and meet strict deadlines individually as well as in a team environment
