Basic Qualifications
Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of engineering technology. Engineering Interns must be enrolled in an accredited degree program in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline with a preference for a standing of a sophomore or higher. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Network Systems Engineering Intern (Junior/Senior Level)General Dynamics Mission SystemsApply your classroom knowledge to real-world programs supporting the defense of our country. General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is seeking a Network Systems Engineering Intern to support enterprise IT and network operations within a mission-focused environment. This internship provides exposure to professional systems administration and network operations while working alongside experienced engineers. Due to the nature of defense programs, hands-on access may be limited; learning will occur through guided tasks, observation, documentation, and supervised support activities. What You’ll DoSupport IT and network teams with operational and administrative tasksObserve and assist with Linux, UNIX, and/or Windows system administrationGain exposure to enterprise networking concepts and architecturesAssist with documentation, asset tracking, and inventoryLearn structured IT processes in a regulated environmentWhat We’re Looking ForJunior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related fieldBasic familiarity with Windows or Linux and introductory networking conceptsStrong interest in systems or network engineeringWillingness to learn and work in a team environmentU.S. Citizenship required
