Travel: Up to 50%, regular travel to customer and project sites

Compensation: $120K to $145K DOE
Bonus: Eligible
Role Overview
The Project Manager, Defense leads complex and critical service projects across multi-branch operations. The role requires a high degree of technical knowledge, ownership, cross-functional coordination, and the ability to deliver full lifecycle project management from planning to closeout. This position supports strategic national security segment initiatives, ensures operational continuity between service, sales, and factory partners, and maintains strict adherence to budget, compliance, and risk mitigation standards.
A successful candidate will navigate high-stakes technical environments, juggle multiple active projects, and operate with the autonomy and execution strength.
Key focus areas include:
• Full lifecycle project planning, execution, documentation, and compliance
• Cross-functional collaboration with technicians, vendors, subcontractors, and customers
• Project profitability management, and risk control
• Standardizing future project best practices
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, organize, and implement critical service projects from initiation to completion
• Define project scope, timelines, deliverables, and resource needs across multi-branch service teams
• Lead and coordinate administrative workflows with service administration teams
• Produce and maintain status reports, timelines, and tracking documentation
• Ensure documentation meets quality requirements and mitigates operational risk
• Develop standardized best practices to support long-term project scalability
• Act as primary liaison between contractors, internal stakeholders, and customers
Required Qualifications
• Proven success in electrical, mechanical, or Defense-adjacent environments
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
• Strong skills in project management software, scheduling tools, and milestone planning
• 3+ years of technical knowledge of Marine Propulsion and Power Generation Diesel Engines
• Excellent communication, leadership, prioritization, and organizational abilities
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Ability to travel frequently to customer and project sites
Desired Skills
• Project management experience, in the marine or power generation field
• Experience working with shipyards, contractors, and government customers
• Background in multi-branch or multi-site service operations
• Experience in risk management
