What You Bring to the Table
- Post–high school education with a business focus (preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in bank item processing, document imaging, or related operations roles.
- Hands-on expertise in:
- Item processing, adjustments, returns, chargebacks, and reconciliations
- Source Capture Optimization (ATM, mobile, customer, merchant deposits)
- Document imaging, scanning, indexing, and quality control
- Mail operations, inventory management, and courier coordination
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong independent problem-solving ability and exceptional attention to detail.
- A customer-service mindset and clear communication skills.
- Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift up to 50 lbs., and maintain a valid driver's license.
What You'll Do to Be Successful
1. Execute and Control Daily Processing Operations• Perform and oversee daily item processing activities including data entry, balancing, file transmissions, reconciliations, and end-of-day reporting.
• Monitor processing queues, exception items, and system workflows to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
2. Serve as the Department’s Technical Expert
• Act as the primary resource for complex processing issues involving item processing, source capture optimization, document imaging, and reconciliations.
• Research discrepancies, resolve errors, and handle escalated questions from branches and internal partners.
3. Support Risk Management and Regulatory Compliance
• Monitor incoming returns, chargebacks, large-dollar items, and exceptions—applying holds and identifying potential fraud.
• Support compliance with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and audit standards related to item processing and document retention.
4. Maintain Reliable Document Imaging & Records
• Prepare, scan, index, and quality-check paper and electronic documents to ensure accurate retention and retrieval.
• Verify that daily notices, statements, and reports are properly ingested into the imaging system and stored correctly.
5. Keep Mail, Inventory & Equipment Running Smoothly
• Process daily incoming and outgoing mail, operate printing and mailing equipment, and prepare bulk mailings.
• Fulfill supply requests, maintain inventory levels, and coordinate with vendors on proofs and orders.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and promptly report issues.
6. Provide Day-to-Day Leadership Support
• Assist the Manager and Supervisor with workflow planning, department goals, and process improvements.
• Represent the department at meetings or company events when leadership is unavailable.
