About This Position

Description:

Under the direct supervision of the Chief Operating Officer, the Administrator is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of facility operations. This role ensures that resident needs are met, services comply with government regulations and company policies, and that high-quality care is consistently provided while supporting the facility’s business goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with facility management and consultants to plan all aspects of facility operations, including establishing priorities and delegating job responsibilities. Monitors departmental activities, communicates policies, evaluates performance, provides feedback, and offers guidance, coaching, or corrective action as necessary.
  • Conducts regular rounds to observe operations across all departments, assess facility cleanliness and appearance, gauge staff morale, and ensure resident needs are being met.
  • Ensures effective use of consultants and support resources while fostering strong interdepartmental teamwork.
  • Ensures the building and grounds are well maintained, and that equipment and work areas remain clean, safe, and orderly. Addresses hazardous conditions promptly and ensures adherence to Universal Precautions, infection control, isolation, fire safety, and sanitation protocols.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all applicable governmental regulations and Company Quality Assurance standards, ensuring full compliance.
  • Ensures all staff understand and comply with residents’ rights regulations.
  • Oversees employee relations practices among key staff to ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies, promoting a positive work environment focused on high morale and staff retention through effective communication, timely problem-solving, and positive reinforcement.
  • Manages staff turnover and ensures appropriate staffing levels by developing recruitment sources and overseeing the selection, onboarding, training, and ongoing education of personnel.
  • Oversees facility budgets and business operations, including labor management, payables, and receivables. Monitors business office procedures to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Develops and executes a marketing strategy that reflects service opportunities, competitive factors, and market trends, with the goal of optimizing census, payor mix, and ancillary revenue. Provides leadership, guidance, and oversight to key marketing staff and actively participates in marketing efforts.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with government regulators, resident families, the local healthcare community, and the broader community.
  • Leads, conducts, and participates in facility and departmental training programs and staff meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Must be a Licensed Administrator in good standing and currently licensed by the state. Individuals licensed in another state must be able to obtain a Texas Administrator’s license.
  • Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or possess the education required to meet State licensure standards.
  • Must be able to interact positively with residents, families, and regulatory agencies, and work collaboratively with employees at all levels.
  • Must be able to maintain consistent attendance and be willing to work long or irregular hours, often under pressure.
  • Must have prior experience as an administrator or possess management experience appropriate to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Must comply with all local health regulations and successfully complete a post-offer health assessment.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Physical and Sensory Requirements (with or without the use of mechanical devices):
  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and community agencies.
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as walking, reaching, bending, stretching, pulling, and lifting.
  • Adequate fine and gross motor coordination to carry out required tasks.

Work Environment:

  • Long-term care facility setting.
  • Exposure to residents with varying levels of care needs.
  • May include evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
