About This Position
The Security Manager will support the safety and security operations at Spooky Nook Sports Ohio while working under the direction of the Director of Security. This role will assist with the implementation and execution of security policies, procedures, and daily operations. Responsibilities include supporting departmental initiatives, helping maintain a safe environment, coordinating with local law enforcement, and assisting in the oversight of security operations to ensure the safety of all employees, guests, customers, and stakeholders.
- Employment Type: Full-Time
- Schedule: Primarily 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Hours: 32–40 hours per week
- Weekend availability required
- Pay rate: $18-25 per hour based upon experience
NOTE: Because this position will involve routine interaction with children, all candidates must successfully obtain the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) criminal history check background clearance prior to beginning employment.

Essential Job Functions:
- Assist in the daily operations and development of the Ohio Security team under the guidance of the Director of Security
- Support the creation, implementation, and documentation of processes and procedures
- Participate in weekly operational meetings
- Assist in training and development of security team members
- Support budget tracking and operational needs of the department
- Help maintain relationships with local law enforcement and emergency responders
- Respond to and assist with handling medical emergencies, fire alarms, altercations, and other incidents
- Assist with internal investigations, including employee relations, guest concerns, and incident reports
- Conduct routine inspections to help ensure facility safety and security
- Support management of security systems including cameras, access control, and communication devices
- Assist in delivering safety trainings (e.g., active threat response, CPR, Stop the Bleed)
- Compile data and reports to support operational improvements
- Provide support during tournaments, events, and high-traffic operations
- Distribute security-related information to staff and guests as needed
- Serve on departmental task groups
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in safety and security
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Must be OPOTA FAB 20-hour endorsed
- An accumulation of at least 3 years of supervisory experience in security, law enforcement, or emergency management
- 21 years of age or older
- Dependable transportation to and from work
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
- Language skills: Fluent knowledge of the English language; including the ability to read and interpret written information and speak and understand verbal communication
- Ability to fulfill the physical requirements of the position with any reasonable accommodations as necessary
- Availability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed
- Authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (i.e. Criminal Justice, Business, Emergency Management, education, etc.)
- Knowledge of operations for large, banquets, trade shows, corporate meetings, and youth travel sports
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team
- Passionate about guest service and advocacy
- Thorough knowledge of sales principles, brand, product, and service management
- High level of interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public to serve as liaison to high profile members of the community and the tourism industry
- Highly dependable with a history of consistent attendance and punctuality
- Guest-focused/service-oriented; ability to see big picture and impact on Company. Supports Company mission as serves as an advocate for its products and services

Working Conditions:
- Work environment: Upbeat, high-energy sports and event complex with heavy foot traffic and frequent large crowds. The team member is occasionally required to work outside where he or she will be subject to environmental conditions.
- Physical requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be regularly required to perform physical activity that includes moving about the work area, sitting and standing. The team member will be frequently required to bend, reach with hands and arms, lift, push, pull, talk, hear, smell, stoop, kneel, or crouch. He or she is required to have the visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
- Lifting requirements: The team member will occasionally be required to lift, push, pull, lower and/or move up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Noise Level: The noise level in this environment is typically variable.
- Work schedule: The work schedule may fluctuate to including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
