SHADE Industries is seeking a highly motivated Sales Consultant Trainee to embark on a comprehensive 12-to-24-month apprenticeship. We don't expect you to know everything on day one. This role offers the rare chance to shadow industry experts, earn a reliable hourly base pay while you learn, and master the art of consultative design for high-end residential and commercial shade solutions.
You will be the face of the company, guiding clients from their initial vision to the final technical rendering of their custom project. Once your training is complete, you will transition into a high-earning commission structure with a realistic $100k$200k+ potential and a Company Vehicle program.
What You Will Be DoingYou will learn to manage the complex, highly rewarding "long-cycle" sales process from the first handshake to the final installation:
- The Apprenticeship: Master the full sales lifecycle through intensive hands-on training and direct mentorship from our senior design consultants.
- Consultative Selling: Conduct professional in-person consultations and site assessments across the Phoenix region.
- Custom Design: Translate client needs and site requirements into functional, highly visual 3D designs using specialized architectural software.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate and sustain long-term, referral-generating relationships with architects, general contractors, and high-end homeowners.
- Pipeline Management: Provide diligent follow-up and elite communication to move complex, high-ticket projects smoothly through your sales pipeline.
- Lead Generation: Maintain a high level of motivation and self-starting daily activity to identify and capture new business leads.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year of professional experience in sales, construction, or a design-related field. (A background in a consultative or "long-cycle" sales environment is a huge plus!)
- Technical Aptitude: Proven mechanical inclination, the ability to visualize spatial layouts, and comfort learning new software. (Experience with 3D design software or architectural rendering tools is highly preferred).
- Communication: Exceptional communication skills, including highly professional writing and the confidence to lead in-person client meetings.
- Mindset: A demonstrated history of independent work, self-motivated schedule management, and the drive to work 40+ hours a week to close long-term projects.
- Travel & Licensure: A valid Drivers License with a good driving record, plus ownership of a reliable vehicle for frequent local travel to client meetings.
