Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience, plus 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Management
- Manage day-to-day lab operations, often as a primary individual contributor
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols
- Oversee maintenance and calibration of lab equipment and instruments
- Manage inventory of lab supplies and materials
- Support development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures and lab procedures
- Coordinate scheduling of lab resources and personnel
- Train and mentor lab staff as needed
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Support research/testing projects and cross-departmental coordination
Office Management
- Oversee all general office operations in a small, collaborative setting
- Manage office supplies, facilities, and vendor relationships
- Coordinate meetings, schedules, and travel arrangements
- Support HR functions such as onboarding and personnel records
- Manage office expenditures and reporting
- Serve as the primary point of contact for facilities, IT support, and outside vendors
- Foster a positive, team-oriented office culture
- Handle multiple administrative tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision
Engineering Support
- Perform hands-on setup, operation, and troubleshooting of lab equipment
- Conduct tests, experiments, and measurements per established procedures
- Collect, record, and analyze technical data
- Assist engineers and scientists with project tasks and technical support
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment
- Assemble, integrate, and test hardware or systems as required
- Document test results, observations, and technical findings
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of materials
- Support quality assurance and inspection activities
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns
Small Office Specific Responsibilities
- Serve as a jack-of-all-trades, adapting to the evolving needs of a small team
- Proactively identify and resolve operational issues with limited resources
- Collaborate closely with all team members across functions
- Manage relationships with outside contractors, suppliers, and service providers
- Support leadership with special projects and ad hoc tasks as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a close-knit work environment
- Help establish and refine processes and procedures as the office grows
Qualifications
- Experience in laboratory, office management, and technical/technician roles
- Proven ability to thrive in a small, fast-paced, and dynamic work environment
- Knowledge of safety standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO)
- Hands-on experience with lab and test equipment
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and procedures
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal direction

Salary Note

Combined Salary Range
USD $67,887.00 - USD $73,456.00 /Yr.
