Summary & Duties

The Production Manager will be responsible for balancing production demands with resource availability, solving operational issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Your leadership and organizational skills are key to achieving production targets and maintaining a productive, safe, and collaborative work environment.

The essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Production Planning and Scheduling:

o Develop Production Schedules: Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer requirements and minimize cost. Coordinate with the procurement and sales team to ensure timely availability of labor and materials. Create and manage production schedules to ensure the timely delivery of products while optimizing resource use and minimizing downtime.

o Monitor Progress: Track production progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet changing demands or address any delays.

  • Process Optimization:

o Improve Workflows: Analyze and improve production processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance service quality.

o Implement Best Practices: Introduce and enforce best practices and standard operating procedures to ensure consistent and reliable production outcomes.

  • Quality Control:

o Ensure Quality Standards: Maintain service quality standards. Monitor and enforce quality control measures to ensure that they meet established standards and specifications.

o Address Quality Issues: Investigate and resolve quality issues, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Resource Management:

o Oversee Inventory: Assist in managing inventory levels of materials to ensure availability, inventory recorded on jobs, and reduce excess stock and cost.

o Optimize Resource Use: Ensure efficient use of equipment, materials, and personnel to maximize production output and minimize costs.

  • Safety and Compliance:

o Maintain Safety Standards: Enforce health and safety regulations to provide a safe working environment and reduce the risk of accidents and injuries.

o Ensure Compliance: Adhere to industry regulations and company policies, ensuring compliance in all aspects of production operations.

  • All Hands-on deck:

o You may be asked to go beyond your role and assist where needed: Contribute to various tasks and provide team support.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3-5 years in production or manufacturing management
  • Skills

o Leadership and team management

o Problem-solving and decision making

o Proficiency in production software (e.g., ERP, MS Office)

o Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control

  • Technical Knowledge: Familiar with production processes, machinery, and troubleshooting
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills
  • Attributes: Detail-oriented, efficient, adaptable, and able to work under pressure
  • Other: Ability to work in fast paced environment and flexible hours/shifts

Work Conditions

  • Non-Climate-controlled & Climate-controlled environment with continual sitting & use of computer, walking, and lifting or moving materials, and being exposed to industrial noise and equipment.
  • Exposure to weather and temperature elements when performing jobsite support.
  • The position often demands flexibility to work long hours or shifts, including weekends, to meet production goals and deadlines.
