As a Front Desk Agent at Courtyard, you’ll deliver personalized service with poise and professionalism, setting the tone for a seamless and elevated guest experience.

Position Overview

The Hotel Assistant Operations Manager oversees front desk, bistro, and evening operations to ensure exceptional guest service, operational efficiency, and adherence to brand standards. This role combines leadership, administrative oversight, and hands-on support across multiple departments, with a focus on delivering a seamless guest experience during evening hours.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Services & Front Desk

  • Supervise check-in/out procedures and perform front desk agent duties, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Respond promptly to guest inquiries, resolve complaints, and provide personalized recommendations.
  • Maintain knowledge of room categories, rates, promotions, and local attractions.
  • Assist with reservations and guest requests.

Team Leadership

  • Conduct shift briefings and pass-downs; monitor team appearance and performance.
  • Train, motivate, and inspire team members; assist with onboarding and disciplinary actions.
  • Foster a positive team environment emphasizing compliance with company and brand standards.

Bistro & Lobby Oversight

  • Support bistro operations; monitor food quality, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor inventory par levels and coordinate restocking for the Crate and front desk supplies.
  • Serve as backup for bistro and front desk staff during breaks or absences.

Administrative & Financial

  • Ensure checklists are being completed and documentation is accurate.
  • Submit nightly reports and communicate feedback to management.
  • Ensure completion of required training programs (e.g., Marriott DLZ, TIPS, Serve Safe) for yourself and team members.

General Operations

  • Maintain lobby and front desk appearance; promote daily deep cleaning.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and brand standards.
  • Cover MOD (Manager on Duty) shifts as needed.
  • Perform special projects and participate in task forces or committees as assigned.

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2+ years' experience in hospitality or a customer-focused industry; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Positive attitude, flexible, and team oriented.
  • Proficient in IT; familiarity with Marriott systems (GXP, GPS, Quore) a plus.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25–40 lbs.
  • TIPS & Serve Safe certifications or willingness to obtain.

  • Hours: Primarily evening shifts; flexibility for operational needs.
  • Employees Supervised: 1–25
  • Travel: Occasional for training or meetings
  • $22+ DOE
