Reports To: Chuck Kunz
Location: Carlinville, IL
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Pay Range + other compensation components: $22.00-25.00

Position Overview
The trailer maintenance mechanic will be responsible but not limited to all trailer preventative maintenance, federal inspections, and small trailer repairs.
Key Responsibilities
The Trailer Maintenance Tech shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Servicing and repairing trailer components
- Full line of service work on the above-mentioned equipment. In addition, will be required to trouble shoot problems as reported
- Performing preventative maintenance daily
- Complete state approved inspections of the trailers
- Understand and install trailer and truck tracking systems
Required Qualifications
- Welding and soldering skills
- At least one year of trailer repair experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Willing to be trained on various mechanical skills and subject matter
- Willing to be trained on refrigeration and small diesel engine repair
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to work well with numbers
- Possess the ability to work without direct supervision
- Willing to attain a class A CDL and pass a DOT drug screen and physical
Required Soft Skills:
- Coachable and willing to learn.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Reliable attendance and consistent work hours
Competency
- Must be able to read and write English and perform basic math calculations.
- Effective time management skills to achieve results through prioritizing demands.
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills and effective decision-making skills.
- Strong attention-to-detail and organizational skills.
- Must demonstrate proficiency in essential tasks.
Working Conditions
- Must be able work in both very hot and very cold temperatures, and various weather conditions.
- Must be able to bend, crawl, climb, squat, and work on items both above the head and at ground level during repair and maintenance operations.
- Must keep work area safe and clean and work in a safe and efficient manner
