Brief Job Overview/Summary
The Graduate Coordinator is an 11-month, live-in para-professional position within the Office of Residential Life. This role serves as an active and visible staff member responsible for facilitating student development, leadership, and community growth while ensuring the safe and efficient operation of campus residence halls.
The Graduate Coordinator is a crucial Residence Life liaison, collaborating with staff at all levels. The Graduate Coordinator also participates in campus-wide, emergency on-call coverage and supports the mission of the Office of Residential Life and Division of Student Affairs.

Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
The Graduate Coordinator for the Office of Residential Life, under the supervision of their immediate supervisor and the Director of Residential Education and Student Services will be responsible for the following:
Core Responsibilities
Across all specialized tracks, the Graduate Coordinator is responsible for:
• Student & Community Development: Facilitating residential programming and community building initiatives, advising students, and serving as a resource/advocate for student needs and concerns.
• Staff Supervision & Training: Directly supervising Housing Area staff and/or a Committee of Resident Assistants while also assisting with the recruitment, selection, onboarding, and ongoing development of Resident Assistants (RAs).
• Conduct & Policy Enforcement: Adjudicating violations of Residential Life policy and the Code of Conduct, meeting with students to resolve incidents, and upholding community safety standards.
• Emergency & Crisis Management: Participating in an evening, weekend, and holiday on-call emergency response rotation, and facilitating Conflict Mediations between residents.
• Administrative Operations: Maintaining 25 office hours weekly (with at least 20 hours during 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM), completing weekly reports, and managing facility opening/closing logistics, assisting with/facilitating regular Fire Drill and Health/Safety Checks.
Specialized Functional Areas
Depending on the specific placement, a Graduate Coordinator may focus on one of the following domains:
• Hall Director: Direct supervision of RAs and oversight of a complex with 200–600 residents.
• Operations: Managing day-to-day logistics, work orders, room changes, and facility readiness.
• Social Justice and Marketing: Developing DEI initiatives, supporting marginalized students, advising cultural clubs, and coordinating the department’s Social Media presence.
• Training & Development: Designing and assisting with RA training sessions, monthly in-services, leadership modules, and the Resident Assistant Hiring process.
• Student Conduct: Administering the conduct process via Maxient and creating conflict reduction programs.
• Student Success: Promoting academic success and wellness through campus partnerships and workshops.
Expectations & Availability
• Presence: GCs must be present for critical university events, including GC/RA Training, Welcome Week, University Weekend, and check-in/check-out periods.
• Communication: Maintain ongoing communication with resident students, RA staff, and professional supervisors.
• Data Literacy: Analyze residential life data (occupancy, incident trends, and assessments) to support proactive community interventions.

• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team to complete projects
Required Qualifications:
• Candidates must be enrolled at Stockton University as a matriculated full-time Graduate student during the time of employment and have a Good standing conduct record with Stockton University & Residential Life
• Bachelor’s degree with prior experience that demonstrates an understanding of residential life, leadership, and student development
