The Accounting Senior Manager is responsible for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger and supporting timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities. Operating within a fast-paced, highly regulated spine/medical device business, this role ensures compliance with US GAAP, internal controls, and supports operational accounting, reporting, and audit readiness. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.


What You’ll Do:

  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications in compliance with company policies and GAAP.
  • Manage and maintain sub-ledger to general ledger reconciliation process, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely and effective manner
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., FP&A, supply chain, manufacturing) to ensure correct accounting treatment for business activities.
  • Monitor inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS) transactions; assist with inventory accounting and reconciliations.
  • Analyze and interpret complex financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement, and develop recommendations to drive business decisions
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and ensuring documentation is complete.
  • Maintain and document internal controls in accordance with SOX requirements or other regulatory frameworks.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead and develop a team of staff, providing guidance, coaching, and training to ensure the team has the necessary skills and expertise to perform their duties effectively

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required, Master's degree preferred
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., JDE, SAP, Oracle) required.
  • Training or familiarity with SOX/internal controls is a plus.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years focused on general ledger / technical accounting, and 3+ years in a leadership or management role
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and general ledger accounting principles.
  • Experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing industry highly preferred
  • Proven ability to analyze large data sets, identify trends, and communicate insights clearly to senior leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-functional communication skills, with experience in leading and collaborating with teams to drive process improvements and achieve business objectives
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative accounting team.
  • Ability to work on site in an office environment. Hybrid schedule
  • Ability to visit warehouse or production floor environments, which may require PPE and occasional light lifting (up to 25 Ibs)
  • Willingness to travel up to ~10%

Pay for this role is competitive and based on experience, with qualifications and performance taken into account.. Final compensation is determined on a case-by-case basis and considers a variety of factors including experience level, skillset, and market conditions.
