About This Position
Position Summary
Mass Lung & Allergy is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and patient-focused Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support clinical operations and direct patient care. The CMA works closely with providers and clinical staff to ensure efficient workflow, high-quality care, and a positive patient experience.
This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, flexibility, and a team-oriented mindset. The CMA may travel to multiple MLA locations based on provider schedules and clinic needs.
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (no nights or weekends).
Key Responsibilities
Prepare for patient visits by reviewing charts, labs, test results, and updates
Room patients, verify identity, obtain vitals, reconcile medications, and update medical history
Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during visits as needed
Educate patients on inhalers, nebulizers, oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and other medical equipment
Administer immunizations, nebulizer treatments, PPD, and perform spirometry/FENO when applicable
Order labs, diagnostic imaging, and assist with referrals and procedures
Perform clinical follow-up including calling patients with results and instructions
Maintain exam rooms, clean between visits, stock supplies, and monitor equipment
Assist with triage, sick calls, walk-ins, and patient flow
Complete clinical administrative work (DME, prior authorizations, forms, prescriptions, referrals, etc.)
Support clinic opening/closing procedures including equipment checks and vaccine refrigerator logs
Assist with emergency response, patient safety, and evacuation procedures when needed
Provide support across MLA locations and accept floating assignments as required
Perform general clerical and patient support duties as needed
Maintain HIPAA compliance, infection control, and safety standards
Perform additional duties as assigned to support quality patient care and operations
Qualifications
Strong clinical, communication, and patient care skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
Knowledge of universal precautions and infection control
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Commitment to HIPAA and patient confidentiality
Flexible and willing to travel between MLA locations if needed
Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required
Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) certification required
Current CPR certification required
Prior Medical Assistant experience preferred
Familiarity with EMR systems preferred
Valid Massachusetts driver’s license and reliable transportation required
