POSITIONOVERVIEW:

The MercerCounty Office of Training & Employment Services (MCOTES) is seeking adedicated and service-oriented Case Manager to assist adults and youth seekingtraining and employment services through the Mercer County One-Stop CareerCenter.

The CaseManager is responsible for assessing participant eligibility for WorkforceInnovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) grant funding and other available fundingsources in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines. This roleworks collaboratively with department leadership, colleagues, and communitypartners to identify participant barriers and develop individualized employmentplans. The ultimate goal is to enhance participants' employability whilesupporting the workforce needs of local employers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conductassessments, eligibility determinations, and case management meetings withadult and youth customers in accordance with WIOA legislation and guidelines.
  • Identifycustomer barriers and educate participants about MCOTES services and communityresources.
  • Assesscustomer career history and goals and collaborate to develop individualizedemployment plans.
  • Developexpertise in WIOA Title I file requirements, eligibility criteria, andperformance measures.
  • Completeassigned tasks accurately and in a timely manner to support departmentalpriorities and best practices.
  • Enterrequired data into the state operating system in accordance with state andlocal guidelines.
  • Maintainregular contact with customers to monitor progress during enrollment andfollowing program completion.
  • Facilitateorientations and workforce readiness workshops as needed.
  • Participatein required internal and external trainings.
  • Developworking knowledge of services offered by contracted vendors and communitypartners.
  • Performrelated duties as assigned to support agency operations.

GENERALRESPONSIBILITIES (All MCOTES Employees):

  • Provideexcellent customer service and disseminate accurate information to communitymembers, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Maintainconfidentiality of customer information and adhere to PII best practices.
  • Treatcustomers and colleagues with professionalism and respect.
  • Demonstratereliability and commitment in performing daily responsibilities.
  • Adhere toCounty and MCOTES policies and procedures, including Time and Attendance andDress Code requirements.
  • UtilizeMicrosoft Office calendar systems for scheduling and meeting coordination.
  • Review andrespond to email and voicemail communications in a timely manner (typicallywithin 24–48 business hours).
  • Completerequired paperwork and reports accurately and within established deadlines.
  • Attend andactively participate in scheduled meetings.
  • Otherduties as assigned by MCOTES Leadership.

REQUIREMENTS:

Applicantsmust meet one of the following qualifications, or a combination of botheducation and experience. Thirty (30) semester-hour credits equal one (1) yearof relevant experience:

  • Four (4)years of professional experience providing career guidance, case management, orcustomer support.

OR

  • Abachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology,Social Work, or a related field.

KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiencywith Microsoft Office 365 and ability to learn new software and systems.
  • Strongcritical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability tocommunicate effectively with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability tomaintain strict confidentiality of job-related information.
  • Flexibleteam player with the ability to adapt to change and accept constructivefeedback.
