FLSA Status : Part-Time-Non-Exempt Pay Range : $12.82-$16.02-$19.23
Reports to: Director of Childcare Services Revision Date: 3.10.26
POSITION SUMMARY:
Supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Build members and the community’s understanding of the YMCA’s cause and impact.
This position provides safe transportation to and from program sites while keeping a supportive and positive atmosphere. May also provide support in other areas as assigned. All while promoting youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility following YMCA policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Builds personal and meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, and guests. While exemplifying the Y’s commitment to the four-character values of caring, honesty, respect & responsibility and responds to all members and community inquiries promptly.
- Drive safely according to YMCA policies and procedures and state laws.
- Complete thorough before-and-after trip checks each day and record all information. Records of gas level, mileage, and maintenance on designated forms. Clean the bus every day.
- Promotes safety by keeping first aid supplies fully stocked.
- Ensure that bus rules are announced and followed.
- Develops friendly and positive relationships among staff, volunteers, parents, and children.
- Communicate regularly with other staff members and supervisors.
- Fulfills any other functions designated by the YMCA Administration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of the rules/guidelines related to commercial passenger vehicles (bus).
- Must pass a background check and finger printing
- Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR and First Aid.
- Meet qualifications set by our insurance company for Motor Vehicle History.
- Has at least 3 years of work experience as a bus driver.
- Has a minimum two years' experience working with Children.
