Job Description:
Therapeutic Recreation student will complete the necessary requirements in accordance with the N.C.T.R.C. Internship Standards.
Required Qualifications:
Must be enrolled at an accredited college or university;
Must be in good academic standing as determined by the college or university;
Students may receive compensation for their internship depending upon the availability of City funds.
The length of the internship may vary depending on the student’s curriculum. The length must be approved by the department director and the student’s designated supervisor.
Students participating in the Internship Program will be responsible for:
Providing their own transportation to and from work;
Arriving at the work site at the time designated by the work site supervisor;
Performing the tasks assigned by the vocational instructor/coordinator and the work site supervisor in an efficient manner;
Demonstrating honesty, punctuality, courtesy, a cooperative attitude, appropriate dress and a willingness to learn; and
Conforming to the guidelines of the internship work site.
The college intern will be evaluated by the department’s designated supervisor using the assigned department’s performance evaluation form or an evaluation form provided by the university/college internship coordinator.
