AMBULATORY CARE UNIT RN at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital – Brattleboro, Vermont

POSITION SUMMARY

• • The Perioperative Nurse performs skilled management of patients during preoperative and postoperative periods, and will cross-train to cover patient care needs in the Pre-Op Clinic, ACU, PACU, and Endoscopy.
  • The Perioperative Nurse delegates interventions which may be performed by others, supervising others as appropriate, assisting in maintaining a safe environment for the rendering of effective nursing care, providing education to patients, families and health professionals and collaborating with other health professionals in the planning and management of healthcare.
  • Responsibilities include assessing the health status of individuals and groups, establishing nursing diagnoses, establishing goals to meet identified health care needs, planning a strategy of medical or health care, prescribing nursing interventions to fulfill the strategy of care, implementing the strategy of care and evaluating documented responses to interventions.
  • Call is required in this position.

QUALIFICATION

• • EDUCATION:
    • Graduate of RN accredited program required.
    • BSN preferred
  • EXPERIENCE/SKILL SETS:
    • Post-anesthesia Care/Phase I Recovery experience preferred.
    • Moderate Sedation experience preferred.
  • LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION(S):
    • Registered Nurse currently licensed by the State of Vermont required.
    • Current BLS and ACLS certification are required.
    • PALS certification required within 6 months of hire
    • CPAN certification preferred at hire
