Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality care to patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or various medical conditions. Your expertise will help improve patients' mobility and overall quality of life in diverse settings, including clinics and home health environments.
Responsibilities
• Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
• Provide therapeutic exercises and modalities as directed by the supervising therapist.
• Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the physical therapist.
• Educate patients and their families on exercises, home care techniques, and safety measures.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in discharge planning to facilitate smooth transitions for patients moving out of therapy.
Requirements
• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Experience or familiarity with orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and home health settings is preferred.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
• Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy while providing care.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in physical therapy.
• Previous experience in a clinical setting is a plus but not mandatory.
