TXA DRIVER - SAN ANGELO at Texas Disposal Systems – San Angelo, Texas

JOB SUMMARY

The Txalloy Driver delivers loads to customers or other locations as directed by the supervisor and operates the assigned vehicle in a manner consistent with company policies and procedures and in adherence with applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
2. Perform pre-trip inspections to ensure the assigned truck is fully-fueled and safe to operate and confirm the required paperwork is on board before leaving the yard.
3. Check loads to be delivered against the invoice provided by the supervisor.
4. Pick up and deliver bulk and packaged products to sites and customers.
5. Perform post-trip truck inspections, ensuring the cab is clean and that the vehicle condition report (VCR) is submitted.
6. Track your personal Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance, i.e. daily hours of service, and immediately report to the supervisor if you are in danger of being out of compliance.
7. Report any moving violations incurred during work hours to the supervisor at the end of the shift.
8. Report any personal moving violations or accidents to the supervisor within 72 hours.
9. Work with the Warehouse Associate to move pallets to the pallet storage area.
10. Work with an Equipment Operator to bring necessary bagged materials for mixing.
11. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• One year of related medium or heavy truck driving experience and/or specialized training
• Excellent heavy truck driving skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to perform basic math functions
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records
• Ability to independently operate end-dump trailers
• Reliable transportation
• Available to work scheduled shifts, including nights, holidays and weekend

PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or its equivalent

REQUIRED LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS

• Valid Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL)
• Safe driving for the last five years
• Valid medical card or the ability to obtain one
