This position entails assisting customers, whether in a retail environment or a workshop setting, in selecting the necessary parts in a courteous, professional, and efficient manner. Customer interactions may occur over the counter, in the shop, or via telephone.

Responsibilities include:
  • Assisting all customers, both retail and workshop, in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Responding to incoming phone calls and counter inquiries, offering price quotations and additional information as needed.
  • Informing customers about companion part requirements and promotions while ensuring that they are aware of the full product line.
  • Reviewing body shop estimates to confirm the accuracy of ordered parts and to verify that pricing aligns with the estimates, when applicable.
  • Retrieving and fulfilling orders from stock.
  • Notifying the parts manager regarding out-of-stock items or shop materials that require immediate attention.
  • Alerting all relevant parties upon the receipt of special-ordered parts.
  • Pulling orders and ensuring that all parts are appropriately tagged with customer names and job numbers.
  • Adhering to departmental policies and procedures related to the special ordering of parts and managing special order aging.
  • Following up on back-ordered parts and replenishing assigned inventory on a daily basis.
  • Maintaining a prompt, efficient, and timely flow of paperwork.
  • Ensuring all internal requests for parts are appropriately billed to the service repair orders.
  • Verifying the back-order files weekly and returning items to vendors or restocking those not collected.
  • Processing payments from retail customers or obtaining credit authorization as needed.
  • Assisting outside sales representatives with their orders.


  • Required Job Skills and Qualifications:
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills, with an ability to maintain a professional image and demeanor.
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong proficiency in computer and telephone skills, including familiarity with the Internet and MS Outlook; proficiency in CDK is advantageous.
  • A degree in automotive technology or equivalent military experience is preferred.
  • Bilingual abilities are considered an asset.
  • Candidates must be at least eighteen years of age.
  • A valid Driver’s License is required.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment screening, including background and drug testing, is mandatory.
