Job Summary
The University of Kentucky, College of Nursing is seeking a Regular Title Series (tenure- eligible) Assistant Professor. This position is a 10-month appointment with an anticipated Distribution of Effort of about 45-70% Teaching and Advising, 0% Clinical Practice Activities, 20-40% Research and Scholarly Activity, and 10% Service which will be reviewed annually. We anticipate a start date on or before August 1, 2026.

This position, onsite, based in Lexington, KY, will assist with undergraduate and graduate program instruction by teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, taking an active role in mentoring students and possibly postdoctoral students, and scholarship by development of an independent and nationally recognized program of research. Service to the College of Nursing, University and discipline of Nursing are a component of the job. This position involves designing, implementing and evaluating assigned didactic courses, advising students, guiding student projects, and serving on advisory and graduate committees.

Research activities include submission of manuscripts for publication, presentation of scholarly activities in peer-reviewed venues, participation as both investigator and co-investigator on research projects, and leadership and collaboration in the development of grant proposals for research projects. Service on college, UK Healthcare, and University committees as appropriate. The candidate should have research and academic experience that includes experience with advising and successful teaching of adult students, and possession of strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. The required education and experience include an earned PhD degree in nursing or related field and hold an active Kentucky license as a registered nurse. This posting will remain open until filled.
